Kindness {Update}

THANK YOU!!!
For those who had the opportunity to help my friend and her family, THANK YOU!
(My friend’s story, here)
A close friend of the family, Tara, and I started to collect items on Tuesday.
Tuesday Night
By the last day, Wednesday!
It was a great success.  Tara took these items to the family and they are forever grateful for our help as well as the rest of the community’s generosity and prayers.

“Thank you for all your hard work Heather and Tara! And to all of you kind and generous people that have donated. I wish I could thank each and everyone of you in person.“
– My Friend
A dear friend and radio personality from K104, Sky Walker, wrote an article about the efforts to help the family. You can read that here.
The family is still accepting donations.  An alternative drop-off location has been established at:
Weichert Realtor Office
1110 Town Square
Lagrangeville, NY 12540
M-F, 9-5pm.

A list of the items needed include:
– Diapers – size 3
– Formula – Earth’s Best (red container)
– Baby food – Plum organic (food pouches)
– 2 high chairs in good condition
– Baby Play Gate (Octagon shaped one)
– ANY organic baby bath products
– Wipes – Huggies Un-scented
– Organic baby powder
– Gift cards -Target, Babies-R-Us, Visa
– Gift cards/certificates to local restaurants in the Poughkeepsie area

You can still make a monetary donation by visiting this site.

Thank you to Paul over at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center for allowing us to use the lobby as a drop-off location.

Thank you to Arnoff Moving who graciously donated a storage unit for the family.

On one final note, this Mommy asked,
“How could I ever repay you for all that you’ve done?”
My answer, “No need to do one thing!”

It was my pleasure assisting this family by allowing complete strangers to have the opportunity to help a family in need while they are going through such a tragic time.  It was such a rewarding experience and I’ve learned that in times of crisis, people do care; people are kind.
