Florian Wirtz, born on May 3, 2003, in Pulheim, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, is a German professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. A product of Cologne’s youth academy, he transferred to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in 2020. In the 2023–24 season, he helped Leverkusen win both the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles, earning him the accolade of Bundesliga Player of the Season. In the 2024–25 season, he played a key role in the team’s victory at the German Super Cup, while also delivering outstanding performances in the UEFA Champions League. In June 2025, he joined a club for a transfer fee that broke records—both for Liverpool and in Bundesliga history—and promptly made his Premier League debut. He has represented the German U21 team, helping them win the European Under-21 Championship; his senior debut came in 2021. During UEFA Euro 2024 and the UEFA Nations League, he contributed multiple goals and assists.
