A little Mommy Encouragement

Hi Mamas!
As I was scrolling through my newsfeed on Facebook a few days ago, I came across this image.  Ever since then, I've been going back to the shared post to reread it- I even saved it to my phone.

At times, us mommies can forget about the little things our children do and need from us.  After reading this, I was reminded that Sophia is "really" that small and it also inspired me to be a mommy who expresses her love a lot, and says "yes" as often as possible.

I hope these words inspire you in some way...  Remember mamas- you are doing a wonderful job and don't forget to giggle a lot<3

Our potty training advice

Potty Training.

Much easier said than done.

In my opinion, potty training has been the MOST challenging part of being a mommy.

Tears, frustration, stickers, M&Ms and laundry.. soo much laundry...are all part of our training..

Now that I just completed scared my mamas who have to potty train their babes in the future, I want to give you some advice...Advice that's helping us through this learning experience for everyone..  I hope it will help you when "it's time" for your little one to start.

10. Boot camp method/"3 Day Potty Training Method" does NOT mean your child will be COMPLETELY potty trained in three days.  A mommy friend of mine shared the ebook, "3 Day Potty Training" with me.  I read it and studied it like I was taking a final to graduate from college..I was excited because I really and truly believed Sophia was going to be COMPLETELY potty trained in 3 days.. (Yes, how naive am I?).   Well.. truth be told, Sophia had an accident today and we started training over a month ago.

9. Accidents are O.K.- It took me a while to get this through my head.  Accidents do happen and they WILL happen.  Just always have a change of clothes with you where ever you go..

8. You will become frustrated and may even cry- but remember, it WILL be ok... Crying it out will make you feel better ;)

7. Regression is going to happen- Sophia regressed for a few days after she started going back to daycare.  Keep in mind any routine/life change may trigger a regression.  Sophia worked through hers in about 4 days..

6. Remid yourself, their just babies-  I had to keep reminding myself, "She's only 2 and what grown adult do you know who isn't potty trained?"  LOL..

5. Double sheet your child's mattress- Put a waterproof mattress protector under the fitted sheet.. Then put another mattress protector and fitted sheet over that one.  If your child wets the bed, all you have to do it take off the first set of sheets then go back to bed.. But....

4. Pull-ups are okay for bedtime.. Sophia wakes up dry most days but may have an accident here and there.  Accidents are usually because she had a drink right before she went to bed.

3. Going "number 2" is difficult for some children... I've been told it's "normal" for kids to not go because they are scared.. Sophia held it in for four days at one point.. I was ready to give her some stool softener to help her go.. She is getting better at it.. Honestly, I'd rather clean up a number 2 mess than a number 1.

Trying to go number two while having a snack..lol

2.  It's a learning experience- I say this because I had a few mamas mention that maybe Sophia wasn't ready to be trained after hearing what I was going through..  After going through with it, I don't think she was 100% ready.. But once you start, you can't stop... What did I learn from this?  I'm waiting until Brayden says he's ready to dump the diaper.. I just hope he's not 4 or 5 because that's a problem..lol

1. It's not about "YOU"- This is the most important piece of advice I want to share..   I'd catch myself saying, "I just want her to be trained... I don't want to change anymore of her diapers... I want her to use the toilet.."  I have to remember that this is about her and that she's in control.. I just have to sit back and ride it out with my little princess <3

Exciting Announcement {Sparkling Opportunity for Me}

As you may have noticed, I have quite a few interests that I like to explore which is one of the reasons why I created this blog.  As part of turning 30, I wanted to take my love for the beauty industry to another level and venture into something fun and exciting.  I am excited to announce that I am now a "Makeup Presenter" for the company, Younique.  Younique specializes in "high-quality, mineral and naturally based cosmetics, avoiding harmful ingredients and cheap fillers and is cruelty-free." <- I love everything about that sentence!

What makes Younique different than other direct sales company is that it markets and sells almost exclusively through the use of social media.  What that means is that you don't have to invite all your friends to your home to have a "home show."  Instead, you can hold an "Online Virtual Party" via Facebook,  where you can earn free products in your jammies.  This aspect of the company is what made me want to try it.  It allows me to work from home, get paid as soon as a purchase is made, choose my own hours, and dictate the time and effort I want to put into my business, on my own terms. With two little ones, I thought this opportunity was too good to pass up!

I received my training kit worth of $406 for only $99 and take a look at all the FUN!!  I couldn't wait to "play" and I finally did on Friday night at 11:00 pm..  Check it out!!

The product that Younique is known for is its "Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara."  These two tubes take your lashes to a whole new level.  Check out my video and you'll see why :) (I give you permission to giggle.)

If you want to follow me along on this journey please:
1.  Like my Younique Page, Heather's Younique Diamond Beauty Cosmetics.   I will be posting product information, beauty tips and tricks and links to shop my parties as well as offer and show you the business opportunity of a lifetime!
2. Follow me on Instagram @ DiamondBeautybyYounique

If you are interesting in having a virtual online party where you can earn FREE Younique products, message me on FB @ Heather Nikola and we will set it up!  Who wants FREE mascara, eye pigments, blush, brushes, moisturizing cream?!

If you think you'd like to join me in this new venture to make a little extra income for yourself or to just play with makeup all day, please let me know!  It's the perfect time to become a Presenter because their aren't that many of us!  We are a fairly new company and we are only going to continue to grow!!   All you need is a FB account and a computer/smartphone/tablet!  We can take beauty to a whole new level :)

I am sooo excited about this venture!!  Did you notice my "Diamond" accents? ;)

I'm thinking my 30's are going to Sparkle*

Sophia & Brayden {Differences in Pregnancy}

Recently, I've had a few of my girlfriends ask how my pregnancy with Sophia was different than Brayden's.  Of course there was some similarities but there were also a ton of differences.  At times, I almost wished I didn't know what pregnancy "felt" like because I felt so different- Cue in the anxiety!
Here's my list of differences while being pregnant with Brayden. Some may be TMI- just cover your ears ;)

  • I broke out (pimples) like crazy within the first few weeks of being pregnant- I felt like a middle schooler.
  • {TMI Warning} I had to wear a panty liner starting in the first trimester and continue to wear one throughout my entire pregnancy.
  • I gained more weight; three pounds to be exact.
  • I carried differently, more basketball-ish.
  • Craved: KFC and Frosted Flakes with B, Pizza Town (local pizzeria) pizza and mozz. salad with ranch dressing with Sophia.
  • Emotional Roller coaster-I did have my moments, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the first time around.
  • Had no back pain (I did go to a chiropractor every other week which I believe helped so much.. Highly recommend seeing one if you have any back discomfort.  Dr. Gabriels is a-maaazing!
  • {TMI Warning} My water broke/gushed with Brayden. With Sophia, it leaked.
  • I was pooped/exhausted and so uncomfortable in the third trimester.
  • I felt more Braxton Hicks.
  • I couldn't handle the smell or taste of Chinese food.
  • Super easy delivery (read all about that here).
  • My Swag/pregnancy waddle started way earlier.
  • Brayden came 13 days earlier than his expected due date (Sophia was 8 days early).
I think those are just about all of the major differences.. Would you say your pregnancies were more similar or polar opposite?
